The Situation: Global Water Crisis
Less than 1% of the water in our planet is accessible for drinking as fresh water even though 76% of world’s surface is covered by oceans. Fresh water is not available reliably in many regions and water stress is rising. This rapidly growing crisis of global water shortage is unfortunately a living reality in many high population density cities in fast developing regions as well as a survival problem in remote rural villages. Through uncontrolled growth, urban overcrowding and economic inequity this sad state of water shortage has become a clear and present crisis. With global warming, this problem is only accelerating to life threatening proportions for marginalized millions that are economically disadvantaged and living in dry and arid regions. Developing economies grappling with urban migration are facing hurdles to their progress due to the lack of fresh drinking water which is limiting urban settlement.

About 76% of the world’s surface is covered with water but 96.5% of that is not drinkable and is in oceans.
Our goal is to find a sustainable solution that can be implemented easily. Our approach provides one possible way to address this problem, while respecting and synergizing with the power of nature. The bright sun and global wind currents take the moisture from the ocean and spread it across the globe. We believe that condensing this moisture in the air can provide drinking water in places where fresh-water lakes and rivers are not accessible to the vast humanity living in these arid and semi-arid regions. Our approach can provide a reliable source of daily drinking water for remote rural villages as well as crowded urban city population.
Our Solution
Mirage Harnessor(TM) : Condensing Moisture and Purifying
By leveraging refrigeration and air conditioning technology, we have optimized condensation of the moisture present in air without disrupting the environment.
Using low cost and easy to maintain technology, we have developed prototypes that can efficiently condense water from humidity in air, purify it and render it safe for drinking and household use.
The units can be easily deployed wherever there is a source of electric power grid or solar or other renewable electricity. This can provide dependable daily drinking for rural population in water stressed areas as a humanitarian solution for poor rural households. It can be deployed through rural entrepreneurs set up as small businesses, or be an employment venue for rural youth when set up as a non-profit venture by government or other non-profit organizations. This product can also be valuable supplement in urban areas facing water shortage issues, especially in developing economies.
